Totem to the Lost is a 16Ft tall fire sculpture depicting various critically endangered species in todays world. The audience is invited to stand around the fire fountain, where the water is aflame and with a push of a button they can actuate fire cannons overhead. The endangered animals are made of steel and cast aluminum. The totem incorporates the Black Horned Rhino, Leatherback Sea Turtles, the Ibis, Pangolins, Frogs, and Bees, as well as hints to modern technologies that have been devastating the planet such as “fracking”. I hope to spark a conversation around extinction and the delicate symbiotic relationships between humans, animals and earth.
